Some people have been asking me about this and I will tell you this much, the only place I will promote it, other than when people ask about it, is on here.  This website blog and Facebook are the only two places I will be making updates about this "Hair Challenge".
For anyone that knows me or has grown up around me - you know I haven't had hair for very long during any point of my life.  In fact, since I was 14 years old I started cutting my hair by myself with a clipper.  That means I've been my own barber for 14 years now.  I've been shaving my head since I was thirteen years old which would make it fifteen years now minus the hair on my head.  Recently, within the last month, I kept hair for almost two months - it was maybe an inch or two and it annoyed me A LOT.   I like hair on other people, can't stand having it on my own head though.
With that being said, I am putting up a challenge together which has already been answered by some donations, including a very generous donation from an individual down in the Minneapolis area who sent a check for the organization I am aligned with -- Project New Hope.  It was in the line of $500, and I thank them for that huge donation around Christmas time!!
The goal in order to keep my hair growing from March 1st through my running season (end of September) is $2,000.
The goal in oder to keep my hair growing from March 1, 2011 - March 1,2012 is $5,000.

I honestly would not like running with a full head of hair - especially in the summer time, but for this organzation, I will do it if the goal(s) are reached.
Raise money how ever you'd like.  Spread the word anyway you'd like.  I'm leaving it up to you to get any type of fundraising done.  I will not promote this other than on here by keeping you updated on my blog and Facebook of where we're at goal wise.
The cut off for the two goal numbers is March 1, 2011.  Donations can still be sent in after March 1 of course ( and I recommend THAT instead of before March 1 so I don't have to run with hair!! ) so start sending in at your convenience.
Tell your friends, tell any group that might want to help out and pitch in.
If we get to this goal or goals, I'm going to need someone to lend me a head band too.  Maybe one with your business name on it if you want it to be seen by thousands of people during my running events.

To send donations, make checks payable to: Project New Hope
You can mail them to me at:

As of right now, from checks that have come in, we're 1,495.87 away from having me run with hair in 2011.

Good luck and make sure those donations are sent in LATER than March 1st so I can keep my head shaved for 2011!!!!!!
