I like to run, but I also add to that by running my mouth.  Not in a bad way, more so speaking about what I'm doing, why I'm doing it and who I'm aligned with.  Project New Hope is the orgranization who gets my attention and the attention of those who see us at each race.  I've been invited to do some different speeches at events, programs and ceremonies throughout the area including prior to or after runs.
It's not part of my training routine, but it helps in the training of quick thinking, public speaking and public relations.  I never prepare any type of speech unless there's a certain time limit that I know I'd go over just rambling.  Tonight I had the floor at an area Lions club meeting to explain the importance of Project New Hope for our troops that make it back from wartime service.  The attention of those in the room was on the project.  Some good questions were asked and details were provided to this organization and their efforts to help improve the quality and financial goals PNH needs.  As a non-profit you rely on contributions from organizations, individuals and grants provided state wide and nationally.  I know Bruce and his crew with Project New Hope work hard to provide the necessary supplies and communication material needed at each retreat they hold.
Just another reason why I keep doing what I do.  Check out their website at www.projectnewhope.net
